Ways to Give

We are Thankful for You

There are many ways to support NPCA's mission of championing lifelong commitment to Peace Corps ideals and achieving our three goals of helping Peace Corps be the best it can be, empowering members and affiliate groups to thrive, and amplifying our community's development impact.

Corporate Matching Gifts

If your employer makes matching gifts, this is an excellent opportunity to increase the size of your contribution, usually by 50% or more. Some corporations even match gifts after retirement for certain employees. Check with your employer to learn more.

Combined Federal Campaign

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the official workplace giving campaign of the Federal government. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Choose NPCA as the charity you’d like to benefit (CFC 11708) and set up your automatic payroll deductions.

Legacy Fund Endowment

NPCA's Legacy Fund Endowment is an unrestricted endowment that enables NPCA to sustain core initiatives over the long term in response to the needs of our global community.

All members are invited to make a lasting investment in Peace Corps values through a gift to the NPCA’s Legacy Endowment, designed to support the future needs of our Peace Corps community. Because NPCA invests charitable capital and distributes only the earned income, your gift will continue to make an impact in perpetuity. Gifts can be immediate or be in the form of planned giving (lead and remainder trusts, gift annuities, gifts of property, securities, etc. as well as bequests). Planned gifts may be stand-alone or aspects of major gifts to enlarge the value of your contributions.

Bequests: Legacy of Peace

Join NPCA's Legacy of Peace Society by naming NPCA as a beneficiary in your will, life insurance policy, or IRA. This is an opportunity for you to support the values and actions of the Peace Corps well beyond your lifetime. In addition, there can be significant tax advantages to making a gift to NPCA from your estate. Your gift will be designated for the Legacy Fund Endowment, unless you specifically direct your gift to any of our other funds.

You may choose to bequeath to NPCA a specific amount or all of your estate. The following suggestions are guidelines and should be written or adapted by your legal counsel to fit your individual situation:

  • Sample Bequest of Specific Amount

“I give, devise, and bequeath $_____ to the National Peace Corps Association, TAX I.D. #58-1431113. NPCA may be contacted at: 20 F. St NW, 7th Fl., Washington, DC 20001; phone: 202-293-7728”

  • Sample Bequest of Remainder of Estate

“I give, devise, and bequeath to the National Peace Corps Association, TAX I.D. #58-1431113, all [or state the fraction or percentage] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal. NPCA may be contacted at: 20 F St. NW 7th Fl. Washington D.C. 20001; phone: 202-293-7728”

We recognize that writing a will and designating beneficiaries are very personal matters.  If you choose to make a bequest to NPCA, we encourage you to let us know so that we may have the opportunity to express our appreciation. IRA Distribution

In January 2020, President Trump signed the SECURE Act into law that increases the age for required minimum distributions (RMD).

Donors age seventy and a half years or older and older may transfer up to $100,000 from their IRA to a qualified public charity, such as NPCA. The transfer will be made free of federal income tax – and in some cases state income tax. The person wishing to make the rollover contribution must go through the IRA custodian who is administering the IRA. Most IRA custodians have forms on their websites that will permit the distribution to be made to the charity. Click here to download more information.
